These pictures uploaded out of order, but there are so many that I just don't want to try and reorganize them right now. So...another place closer to our hotel in Scottsdale was the Musical Instrument Museum. One morning Mom and I took the kids to check it out. We walked through the Arizona section first, then wandered through the other regions of the world, and then after a quick trip through the gift shop, we spent some time playing instruments in the activity section. The place is huge and you could spend days walking from station to station listening to everything they have on display, but I just don't really do that when I go to museums anyway and with the boys...it wasn't going to last the duration of our trip. Fletcher started out with earphones on, but was over them by the time we made it through the Americas section. There were some schools on field trips, but we managed to stay away from them for the most part.
Wallace and Ladmo was a local show that I remember watching as a kid. I went to a filming of it with my brownie troop way back when and ended up winning a Tootsie Roll bank!
Another section of Arizona was dedicated to the Gin Blossoms and Alice Cooper...who went to one of my rival high schools.
Another star went to another rival high school of mine...Jordin Sparks. Here's her dress between the ASU and UofA band uniforms.
I thought these were cool spots...The one in the middle is a bunch of signed harmonicas and the one on the right is a picture of weaved instruments.
Two of Elvis's guitars, including one that was the last one he played on.
A tribute to Taylor Swift.
The handwritten lyrics to Pretty Woman and a signed hat to Toby Keith from troops at Camp Pendelton.
Fletcher in front of one of the drums used in the 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremony in China.
The boys in front of a gong.
Here they are in front of this giant violin.
Here's the oldest instrument on display in the museum...a drum from China.
It's a great place to spend a day! I'm so glad we checked it out while we were in town!
