Girls Weekend!

Back in September, I decided to head out to Phoenix to visit with family and friends and just after discussing a girl's weekend away from the children, my mom booked her timeshare so we'd have a place to stay. So, I wrote a couple friends about the idea and decided that even if nobody joined me, I was going to have some time away from my children to rejuvenate myself. Well, Liz and Janet are local friends and they were able to join me and Kat found a cheap flight into town for the weekend and she joined me! This was one of the best pics I could get with my camera.

The weekend started with happy hour at RA on Friday. Then we got Kat from the airport, went back to the timeshare to drop off her belongings, and then we went to Blue Martini for some live music and yummy beverages.

We toasted my 33rd birthday right at midnight and we ended up staying up until 2am, after a quick stop at In-N-Out. But guess what? Kat and I were excited to sleep in without children waking us up and Kat and Liz were excited to sleep in without husbands waking them up!

On my birthday, we slept the morning away and went out for lunch at The Good Egg. Then we went back to the hotel. Liz took a nap while Kat and I went to the hot tub. After more down time, Janet joined us. Then we all went out for mexican food. I had never been to Blanco in Scottsdale, but oh my gosh! It is sooooo good!

They gave me a free dessert, which I shared with everyone.

I took giant tequila shots. I don't remember the last time I took shots and I know they weren't this large.

After Blanco, we went to Twin Peaks Brewery and Susie joined us. She is married to Josh, one of Graham's best friends. (Graham is Kat's husband.) After a couple pictures and small talk, he left so it would remain a girl's weekend.

Again, we stayed up way too late, but guess what? We got to relax and sleep in the next morning! Susie left early to head home. Then Liz left. Then Kat's mother-in-law picked her up. Then I enjoyed a couple hours by myself. Then Mom showed up with Fletcher and Holden. It was great to have just a few nights on my own. I had never left Fletcher overnight...except to deliver Holden in the hospital. So, this was the first time I have left either one of them overnight.

Happy 33rd Birthday to me! (Thanks Grandma for watching two of your grandsons!)
