A Trip To Amanda's

Amanda and I had a mutual friend, Kirsten, in college...that's how we met. Although she and I didn't live together at all during school, she did live with some of the people that I also lived with, if that makes any sense. In addition, we came from the same area in The Valley and had some overlapping social circles. We weren't very close, but have been connected through blogging and social media over the past couple of years.

So, when she learned that I would be in Phoenix, she invited me to join her for Stroller Strides one morning at Desert Ridge and then come over to her house with the boys for a little playdate. Aside from Fletcher having an accident (which became an issue when we traveled for some reason) and Fletcher biting Kian (which was the first time in months he has done that), we had a nice visit with them.

So, for the first hour of meeting up, we didn't get to talk much, because let me tell you...there isn't much strolling involved with Stroller Strides. Amanda's friend Alexa leads the group sometimes and today she was there. She offers no pity for the out of shape...like me! And it felt good to be pushed. However, I haven't run with the double stroller that I brought on this trip before and I haven't exercised in quite awhile, so I was thinking of Amanda and Alexa for days to come as my body recovered. I was glad I got to go!

Fletcher wanted to see the fountain before we left.

The boys...Fletcher, Naison, and Kian played outside a little bit and they really enjoyed jumping all over Amanda and Vafa's old mattress inside the house. Holden roamed around a bit on her floor playing with all the cool toys. We also took some time to eat some lunch before heading home for naps. (And then I found out that Holden was sick.)

Here's a self-portrait of Amanda and I. She's in amazing shape, so maybe I should look for a Stroller Strides group in my area. But I'm sure that's not all she does. She's smaller than she was in school and after having two kids! What!?!? At least she's honest and says it's not easy. So much for my idea of drinking calories, eating good food, and losing weight while sitting behind this computer blogging away! Ha ha ha.

I hope we get to meet up the Ghaemmaghami Family before we leave for one more fun time...maybe without accidents and biting incidents!
