Dying Easter Eggs

We dyed eggs on Good Friday. I decided to cut the number of color choices down to two and we only had him dye 10 eggs, which was plenty for this almost two-year-old. Holden was asleep during the dying process, of course and wouldn't have been able to do anything anyway. I recently saw the idea of using a whisk to help in the dying process, so you wouldn't have to deal with balancing the egg on the wire spoon or dropping the egg in the water resulting in colored water splashing around. So, we gave it a shot. It looks like it would work better in a wider bowl or cup, so with a few adjustments in future years, it may work better.

These are a few attempts at Fletcher trying to get me to give him some of the eggs to play with.

Here are his dyed hands.

The day before, they had an Easter Egg Hunt at his school. Up until then, I was wondering if he'd know what to do with the egg hunt this year, but he seemed to learn more than I wanted him to. Not only did he learn that you collect them and put them in your basket, but you can also open the plastic eggs and things will be inside them. I had planned on hiding empty eggs, figuring he wouldn't know the difference. Well, I wound up putting stickers in them. Here he is after opening a couple eggs from school that had chocolate in them.
