Unfortunately we had to attend a funeral today. Jesse's cousin's mother-in-law (did you follow that?) passed away this week. It's been going downhill for a few years and everyone was simply exhausted taking care of her, but kudos to them for doing such a loving and nurturing thing for so long. Mrs. Cranford died at age 86. I can't imagine what she had seen in her life. She was a sweet woman and will be missed at Thanksgiving each year. (That's when we would see her...in fact we've spent more Thanksgivings with her than Jesse over the past six years...)
I don't have any pictures from the funeral because I live in the dark ages and rely on written directions, which took me to a different town and before I could find my way back with my mental map from my preparation the day before, I just barely made it to the church in time for the funeral. Since we got there so late, I had to take Fletcher to the bathroom and go myself right when the service ended. Three other ladies in the family had to go too and by the time we were done, the processional had already left! We tried to find the burial site, but nobody in our three cars could figure out where to go. So, we just went back. Over 2 hours to drive there and 2 to drive home with a short trip to nowhere in between, but it was worth it to show support for such a loving and supportive family. We're sorry for your loss Jake, Stephanie, and Zac.
Holden got to meet Great Aunt Ramona, Great Aunt Nel, Great Uncle Pete, and his second cousin Dennis on this trip. We also got to see Stephanie, Jake, Zac, Angel, D.O., Oma, and Opa too.
