I can't believe it, but Holden is three months old and the fourth trimester (that is discussed in many baby books) is over. Here are some pictures from his third month after we returned from Colorado.
First, I have to say...this was one of the cutest baby things we received...they are sushi socks! Just socks packaged to look like a tray of sushi! A friend of our's teaching for DoDDS in Japan sent them, but you could probably find them by looking up Seasons for the Soul.
Whenever Holden is in the swing, Fletcher gets into the little bouncy seat. He also likes to squeeze into the Bumbo, but he has trouble getting out of both!
He has really started to interact more, cooing, smiling, and even sharing a belly laugh now and then. Here he is in the "Face it...it's time to call Grandma" onesie and he's asleep on Jesse in his monkey pajamas.
Here are pictures from Holden's first Memorial Day!
Nope...your eyes are not deceiving you! That is a pacifier in his mouth! So...he found his thumb while we were on vacation and we just kept having to pull his hand away from his mouth. But, man! When he wanted to suck, you could hear him sucking that thumb from across the room. So, we decided it'd be easier to break the pacifier habit than the thumb sucking one. When we got home, we started trying to get him to suck on the pacifier. This was one of the only times he kept it in his mouth. We still try when we need to so we can prevent the thumb from entering his mouth, but he now tends to just suck on all of his fingers if he can't get me. We're fine if he shows no preference to the thumb. But, as we move him to the crib, I'm worried about him sucking his thumb at night and not being able to stop it! So, we'll see.
Also this picture shows where he cat naps in the evening. After I bathe him, I put him on the boppy in our bathroom while I shower and Jesse gives Fletcher a bath. He often falls asleep right there for his final short nap of the day.
We took out the play mat. Our house is just full of child toys! Part of me can't wait for him to get through a couple stages so we can start cleaning out the house, but a larger part of me doesn't want him to age any faster than he has to!
Here he is in one of my favorite little outfits and he's showing crazy eyes!
Whenever we take pictures of Holden, Fletcher wants to be in them too. He also really got into saying "CHEESE!" while we were on vacation. He holds up an old cell phone and pretends it's a camera saying "cheese" and taking pictures of everything!
We are always playing with Joe and Hank, but I rarely seem to get pictures of the action. So, when we went up to their place to play outside the other day, I took some pics. Doing so made me realize why we don't try that often...they are just all over the place! Jen's expecting another baby, so soon enough Holden will be in on the action and that baby will be looking on from afar.
Holden also sat in the Bumbo for the first time.
He and Knuckles helped me with laundry one day too!
We are gearing up to move him out of the bassinet and into the crib. I started with naps on June 4th. Slowly but surely I'm hoping he'll get used to sleeping in that room!
Here is Fletcher giving Holden kisses, then hugs, then tickles. He is always asking to hold his baby brother.
