First some pics of him falling asleep on Grandma and Grandpa in Phoenix. (Jesse just got an iPhone, so we have to remember to get pictures from it and add them to the rest of the group!)
When we moved into our house, one of my first thoughts was what kids might put down the vents. Fletcher didn't have all that much interest in them, but Holden is the exact opposite. He is constantly taking them out! ERRRR....
He is also getting a hold of the toilet paper any chance he can. It drives us crazy. And what's worse is...he is so interested in the toilets themselves, putting his hands on them and trying to look inside them. Disgusting! Needless to say we are always with him or keep him out of there altogether.
He also opens the cabinets now. Since Daddy's coffee maker was out of this one, he thought he'd climb right in...and he fits!
He loves to play with Knuckles and Knuckles is so sweet and tolerable with him and of course, since he shows interest in her, Fletcher has to show extra interest in her. She is the best dog ever.
Fletcher got a helicopter for Christmas and Holden has to see it every time he plays with it. The same holds true for his trucks, his trains, the chairs, the books...pretty much anything Fletcher has...Holden wants.
He had his first Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Oh! He is also obsessed with the fireplace. We haven't had to turn it on much this year, but we don't want him to play with it at all. Man! He is really putting up a fight with this. He wants to go for the little spiral handles on the wire curtain. We block the fireplace with other things and he just pushes his way through the barriers and gets to the fireplace. When we reprimand him, he just grins and laughs at us. What a stinker!
He has become an eater! Finally! He is still fed baby food, but also likes finger foods. As he gets better with getting more into his mouth on his own, we'll try to feed him less ourselves. We're just happy that he seems to eat more and try different flavors now.
He still hasn't fallen into a completely predictable schedule. I try to keep him up in the morning so he goes down in the afternoon, but some days it just doesn't work. One minute he'll be awake and the next minute, he falls asleep.
His first day in the convertible car seat was on February 3, 2013. We managed to keep him in the infant one for quite a long time. In fact, I'm still using it in my car. I'm not sure how long we are going to keep him facing backwards, but he tends to like seeing Fletcher and the AAP recommends keeping them rear-facing for two years now. I can't imagine going that long with him facing backwards, but since he weighs what Fletcher did when Fletcher was six months old (22 pounds), we have time to work with before switching him out, turning him around, and buying a new car seat for my car.
Fletcher is busy around the house, working in the garage with his tools one day and helping with the laundry the next.
He goes without naps, but we think he still really benefits from one each day. This particular day, he was sound asleep. When I went in to get him, he didn't budge, so I went to get the camera. He's like his mom here, covering up his head!
One day upstairs, he decided he was going swimming. He keeps talking about swimming now and associates it with taking his shoes off. Who knows when we'll get him into lessons, especially with the ear tubes.
Jesse gets to enjoy one of his favorite Daddy moments still...holding his boys while they sleep.
