Happy Birthday Fletcher!

It's hard to believe that Fletcher is two years old! Man! When people say to enjoy it because it all goes by so fast, they really mean it. I realize this when I see friends' kids getting older, but it kills me a little inside when I see it with my own children growing up right before my eyes! At his two year appointment he weighed 35.2 pounds and was 36 inches tall. He's in the 90th percentile for height and 95th percentile for weight. We also found out that he had another ear infection at that appointment...and that's while he was on Zyrtec for allergies! So we'll see if a visit to the ENT doc is in the near future.

At two years old, Fletcher loves and I mean LOVES the following things:

Trucks, especially the trash trucks that come through the neighborhood. He loves to throw things in the garbage too.

Cars are a close second to trucks.

Shoes, like the pair of crocs he's wearing in this picture. He likes to put them on and take them off himself.

Being outside...he likes to help Dad in the yard and just wander around or play outdoors.

"Fixing" things around the house.

Doing whatever he sees us do, like put on lotion or brush our hair, wash the dishes, load and unload the dishwasher.

Cleaning...he loves to vacuum and sweep.

Acting out animal movements and making the sounds they make too.

Bath time! (And water wherever he can find it!)

Reading books, and now he has his favorites and says, "I read," for the ones he wants to "read."

Making coffee or "towey" with Dad on Saturday mornings and making towers of Legos with him upstairs.

His favorite books this year were: Zoo Babies, Under the Sea, TRUCKS, Biscuit's Valentine's Day, If You Take A Mouse To The Movies, and various books about Australian animals or any books that had flaps where you could look for something or identify something.

Singing and Dancing!

His favorite songs to sing are: "Bible," which is Jesus Loves Me, "Shoot Ma-Ma," which is The Lord's Army, and his AMEN during that song is to die for. He sings "I May Shoot...Amen!" which sounds like, "I may shoot a man!" He also liked The Wheels On The Bus, Where Is Thumbkin?, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and I'm A Little Teapot.

His favorite colors seem to be (as he's just learning them): Blue and Green

His favorite number is 3.

He eats almost anything, although he doesn't eat as much as he used to these days. His favorites are: hummus, yogurt, dipping sauces and salad dressings of all kinds, milk, juice, which is mostly water with a little bit of OJ, cheese, crackers, and the pureed fruit and veggie pouches.

His vocabulary is expanding daily. I'm waiting for him to say some more colorful words that he often hears from his father, and sometimes from me! Currently his favorite words are quite age appropriate: No, Mine, Eat, Please, Pee, Poop, and Play are used quite a bit. He strings words together now too.

One of our favorite things is listening to him go through roll call when he's fighting sleep or talking to himself..."Mommy, Dadday, Daddy, Mommy, repeat a few times and continue with Oma, Opa, Grandma, Grandpa, Aubrey, Ashlyn, and continue through the rest of his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and he throws in Hank and Joe, two of his neighborhood playmates.
