Easter time was here before we knew it! Fletcher and Mommy made Hoppy Easter Eggs for the staff at his school. He was a happy kiddo when he came home from school with the Easter Basket he made. More candy entered our house! BLAH! It seems like that cycle is unending.
Grandma bought Holden these bunny ears last year for Easter and they fit him better this year and actually fit our big bunny too, so we'll keep them around for another year for sure!
Mommy helped the boys dye Easter Eggs while Daddy took pictures. Fletcher did a wonderful job and Holden was quite interested in the whole process. We went with only three colors and eighteen eggs this year.
Here's Holden with his bunny from his Godparents, Janet and Joey.
This morning we went to Fletcher's school because they were having a gathering for children (of the church and anyone that wanted to join them) to play games, hunt eggs, and eat lunch.
Holden wandered around while Fletcher joined in the group games. He just followed what everyone else was doing.
They had an egg race, of course. Classic game for this time of year. Fletcher waited and waited for his turn. See the lady on the bottom right of the collage? For some reason, she decided that Fletcher (the last kid to go) wasn't moving fast enough. She put the extra eggs down, and scooped him up from behind...scaring the crap out of him to begin with...and then she never regained her own balance, lost her footing, and fell straight on top of him on the asphalt! We were so mad, because there really was no reason for it to have happened at all. But, of course we just attended to him and were thankful that he escaped with just some scrapes. We were shocked that there were no broken bones or chipped teeth, to be honest. The lady felt horrible and embarrassed I'm sure. She got hurt almost even worse. She never did come around to apologize or check on Fletcher...even though I went out of my way to see if she was okay.
I got him cleaned up and placed a bandage on the larger cut. We gave him a popsicle to distract him and help him stop crying. Then Daddy held both boys while we waited to eat.
After food, they took the kids inside and had them dance and sing different songs. Holden tried to keep up with Fletcher as much as he could!
Then it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt! Fletcher found a ton of eggs!
This was Holden's very first Easter Egg Hunt! To our surprise, he insisted on opening each individual egg as he found them. Then he would leave the contents and the egg, find another one and do the same thing!
