Holden's Baptism

Today was Holden's Holy Baptism. After more than a year of trying to figure out schedules, we were able to have both sets of grandparents, his Godparents, and both of us there for this service!

These were some of the pictures taken during the actual service. Paula Burns, one of our friends from church requested to be the assisting minister so she could be part of the baptism and luckily, we were able to have the same pastor that baptized Fletcher baptize Holden before she retires in early May!

After church we took a bunch of pictures of different groupings. Here's Opa and Oma Williams with us.

Here is everyone!

Here are two pictures of both sets of grandparents and us. (Holden decided to wave here, which made Oma laugh, so you can see her holding his arm down in the next shot.)

Here are two pictures of Grandpa and Grandma Cunningham with us. (Holden decided to cuddle up to Grandma in the first one, so you can see I had to swing him around to the other side in the second one, where Fletcher was caught saying CH in "cheese.")

Then a little family shot.

Here's a picture of us with Janet and Joey Reiman, Holden's Godparents. And, then one of them with Holden.

Just us with the man of the hour.

I made personalized ties from the newborn pictures we had taken of Holden. (I did the same thing for the first Father's Day of Fletcher's life...and had them wear the ties for his Baptism too.) So, here's the tie picture from Holden's Baptism.

Here is Holden with Pastor Louise Hilbert.

Here are some other pictures from church.

When we got home, Holden got to open up some gifts for his Holy Baptism. The church made him a quilt like they do for every child that gets baptized there.

Here are some pictures from around the house.

Fletcher pretended to sleep with his "friends" in the chair and was super happy when Ms. Janet joined them!

In actuality, it was a very lazy afternoon. Most of us were very tired. When the kids went down for their naps, many of the adults fell asleep as well.

Holden enjoyed some extra snuggle time with Janet that night and even got his first lesson on how to use an iPhone. I would bet he knows more about using one than his Mommy!

We were so happy that the essential people for the baptism were able to join us for Holden's special service! We had a wonderful time and filled our home with love and warmth when it was pretty darn cold outside!
