Easter

We did not get a family picture on Easter, but we had a great day! We went to church in the morning and after the service they had a brunch for everyone and then an egg hunt for the kids. It was wet and raining outside, so they had to have the Easter Egg Hunt indoors. Fletcher went around really fast. Holden insisted on opening each egg as he found them...again. Toward the end, Fletcher wanted to help his baby brother get a few more eggs. When it was all over and we were returning plastic eggs to be re-used next year, some of the older boys dropped an egg into Fletcher's basket and then told me that he got the golden egg. We opened it and found a five dollar bill! Woohoo! What a lucky boy!

They took a group picture of the kids. You can see that Holden did not want to stand with the group! All the excitement at church wore the little guy out and he was asleep by the time we got home.

After naps, the boys hunted for Easter eggs in the backyard, playing their typical roles. Fletcher was a tornado and Holden was a calm breeze. (These are only typical roles for Easter Egg Hunts...Holden is not always slow and methodical.) Fletcher filled his basket and Holden opened one egg at a time.

This collage illustrates Fletcher's concern for Holden. I thought he was going to take Holden's yellow egg and keep it for himself, but he saw that Holden wasn't understanding that he should put his eggs in his basket. So, Fletcher took his yellow egg and placed it in Holden's basket for him.

After they finished hunting eggs outside, they searched the house and found the Easter stashes upstairs. Once again, they had way too many things, but they were so excited to get into it all!

We had a wonderful Easter Dinner, just the four of us, and a wonderful Easter 2013! The first three months of the year have just flown by! Happy Easter!
