Pool and Playdate!

I wish we had a pool we could conveniently use around here! I swear there should be more backyard pools here. It is hot enough the majority of the year for backyard pools to get plenty of use!

Anyway, we went over to Dorothy's neighborhood pool on post for a mid-morning swim and then back to her house for a playdate. Dorothy was there with her two girls: Adelyn and August. Our mutual friend Elizabeth was also able to meet up with her two boys: Braz and Patrick.

Holden fell asleep on the drive over and thankfully slept for the 45 minutes we were at the pool. So I had some one-on-one time with Fletcher. I wish I could get him in the water more often. August was content in Dorothy's sling. Adelyn wasn't in the swimming mood, but she gets to go there every day or twice a day. She has no fear. Neither does 18 month old Patrick. He would just walk in, deeper and deeper and follow his brother Braz wherever he went! Fletcher jumped in on his own at one point and then didn't know what to do. He was in a very shallow end at the entry point. Although he was scared, I don't think he was in any real danger. Dorothy was right next to him and I got to him quick as a wink.

We were clearly outnumbered by the children, which was evidenced by my biting son, Fletcher...who bit Patrick's perfect little cheek toward the end of a beautiful morning. It happened so quickly and out of nowhere I think we were all shocked. This behavior has happened at his school and it is so incredibly annoying that he does this. I'm hoping this was the last of it and I sure hope Holden isn't the same way. Other than that, it was a great day for the pool and a small get together without too many other eventful episodes.
