Soccer Stud

Today was Fletcher's last day of his first organized sport experience. Since April 30th, he's been going to a park once each week to have soccer practice. It was nice to have an afternoon activity, get him involved in something, and to top it off...he actually paid attention and followed directions, making me glad we didn't waste any money seeing that he is still so young.

They played different games, being elephants, ants, dragons, and more.

Once Holden was out of the stroller, he just had to participate too and didn't hesitate to plop himself right down in the midst of things. Luckily there were other non-participants participating, young and old.

One of the favorite games was making ice cream with the cones and ball. Another was "What time is it Mr. Fox?" which is similar to Sharks and Minnows for swimming.

The pictures above are him the first day of lessons. With the enrollment, he got a ball, jersey, and shorts. So, he wore the uniform the rest of the practices. The pictures below are him on the second to last practice day. I'm glad I took them then because Coach Jon was there that day, but wasn't at practice on the final day.

They had the kids be Superman over the ball, be Spiderman protecting the ball, and Fletcher's favorite...be the Incredible Hulk, yelling to protect the ball. Now, honestly, he doesn't even know all of these characters, but he went along with the game.

Here he is with Coach Jon and then with two new coaches on the last day with some of the kids and their certificates.

And of course some classic soccer poses. What a soccer stud!
