Valentine's Day 2011

Valentine's Day was quite nice this year! Jesse brought home something sweet last week. (see above).

We went out with friends on Saturday night for another adults only evening, which again did not disappoint!

Here are the girls(Me, KP, Dorothy, and Katie):

The boys acting dumb (Adam, Jesse, and Paddy):

The couples together:

After a late night, we hung out at home on Sunday. This morning, we got up and took our little guy to apply for his very first passport. Then we stopped by his girlfriend's house to take her a candy flower. Guys are supposed to get their gals flowers and candy, right? Well, he did two-in-one and she can't really play with it or eat it, but hopefully she realizes at an early age that it's truly the thought that counts! Ms. Kay brought Adelyn outside to see Fletcher. Then she really wanted to hold both of them. Although Adelyn is smiling here, she did have a bout of jealousy until Ms. Kay handed Fletcher back to Jesse. Then Adelyn was all smiles again. Maybe Adelyn just didn't want her eligible bachelor in anyone else's arms!

After grocery shopping, we went to lunch:

Back home, Fletcher opened his valentines from his grandmothers.

He also gave Daddy a valentine:

And then flowers and a small box of chocolates arrived for Mommy from Daddy:

This is the first year in a very long time that I didn't have a class to share Valentine's Day with. It feels a little strange as that was always the one day where we could still celebrate something that the political correctness of our nation hadn't really yet ruined. In addition, it was one day during the year that most kids and parents shared words of kindness with the teachers! I missed it a little, but I think I loved hanging out with this little bachelor even more. (and his dad of course!)

Doesn't the newsline on the TV say it all? "Researchers find love may be a natural painkiller."

He was an eligible bachelor by day and a heart breaker by night. Check out those teeth too!

Finally, here's a little video clip of Fletcher being entertained by a little "I'm Too Sexy" dancing hamster we got from my oldest brother years ago.
