Fletcher recently went to his very first dentist appointment and he did an AMAZING job!!! We had taken him with each of us the past couple of times that we went in for our own check-ups, so he'd have an idea of what to expect. He just listened and followed directions the whole time! There was no talking back, no questionning, no tears, no pouting, no nothing! He did everything they needed to do and did more than they thought he'd allow them to do. In the end, he got to choose a balloon color, a toy from the treasure box, and a toothbrush. I think he may have even liked it!
A short time after this visit, on a morning when he woke up extremely early...I took him into bed with me, which I rarely do. It was adorable. He pretended to be a dentist and set up an imaginary tray of tools and started ordering me around. He'd tell me when to open, when to shut, when to pretend his finger was a like a straw, etc. He even let me choose a balloon and a toothbrush at the end of my exam!
