The Big One: Take Two

Fletcher spent his actual birthday with my family in Arizona. My parents and brother and his family live there. My sister and her boyfriend came in from Texas for a visit and the festivities as well.

The first stop was a local splashpad. While waiting for the water to start, Fletcher enjoyed the swings.

Contrary to what I thought would happen, he didn't care too much for the splashpad and Reece was hesitant too. However, Rylie enjoyed it all in full force.

After drying off, we went to enjoy the park. Since Fletcher can only really swing, he was held while the others played around.

Then it was off to Red Robin for a birthday lunch. Someone caught a cat nap on the way!

He got to open presents and enjoy the family company.

Then they sang to him and brought him an ice cream sundae. He did not get into it as much as he got into the cupcake at his first party. I kept having to try and force him to taste it, but he liked to play with the spoon and dish.

He was quite a trooper through the morning and afternoon, but there were some times when it was his birthday and he'd cry if he wanted to.

He had a very long afternoon nap. Then we drug him to dinner with us as I was meeting up with former swimmers at a local bar and restaurant. He was not having any of it and wound up having a fever. So on top of his current third ear infection, he caught the virus his cousin had too. I think any of us could understand his frustration at the end of such a long, but very important day! Happy First Birthday, Fletcher!

GREAT photos! I love the one of him holding the spoon in the air and looking at it. Too cute!
