There SNOW place like home for the holidays!

Well, I left the snow suit at home when I came to SC for Christmas, so go figure that Fletcher's first day in the snow would be here with his gear in NC. Oh well! We only stayed out there for roughly five minutes to simply capture the experience (ie. layered in clothes and plopped down on the cold, wet ground and told to smile.) He went with the flow at first.

Then it quickly took a turn.

Then I took off his mittens so he could explore, because he seemed so frustrated and that seemed to do the trick. He enjoyed touching and tasting it.

Then it was time to peel the layers and go in by the fire to warm his tiny hiney.

We only got a few inches here and about half a foot at home, I think. I was glad that I wasn't driving home regardless and I'm glad that we aren't flying across the country this week. There's just something about watching snow fall outside from inside a warm place. It fills your heart with something special. And, there's no place like home for the holidays and I'm grateful that my in-laws opened their home for us this week!
