May 9th was Fletcher's first haircut. It wasn't that his hair was really long, but it was wispy in some areas and uneven along the back. When I look at the pictures now, it doesn't look like he really needed a haircut, but when I look at him now, he definitely needs one, as his hair is much longer now. An internet search led me to a place in the area that is geared toward child haircuts. It's actually on the other side of town, but not as far away as it could be. Jesse was able to meet us there during his lunch break. Here are some before and after pictures.

The "salon" was definitely geared toward girls, with all the hair accessories you could possibly imagine. They also held private pamper parties for birthdays and such. We were there at a time when we had the choice of riding an airplane or driving a tractor during the haircut. We chose the plane this time. Fletcher seemed to like it.
At one point, he got a bit fussy and Daddy stepped in to help him.
He got more upset when Dad left the building.
However, he was quite the happy camper when Dad came back with his milk.
After awhile he got a bit nervous again.
So, Mom gave him some lotion out of her purse. Once the hairdresser pulled out the shaver, he was calm as could be, loving the humming sound that it made. Before we knew it, we were done!
We got the haircut four days before professional pictures were going to be taken. The next day, he got this cut and shiner...just in time for pictures! (Luckily, it didn't look so bad by that Friday.)
