Pumpkin Patch

There's a farm not too far from our house that has a little pumpkin patch. I met up with Dorothy and Adelyn there this morning to take some first pumpkin patch pictures of the kids. They even gave Fletcher and Adelyn each a free little white pumpkin. It is supposed to be record heat again today and was already hot while we were there, plus it was their nap time, so the timing was less than ideal, but we took plenty of pictures!

They were not too happy when we got there and put them on the hay for the first pictures.

But a change in location did the trick for Fletcher. By the way, this was the first time that I found a pair of shoes that actually allowed his feet in. I also put on pumpkin socks for the occasion.

Did he care about the tractor, wagons, or pumpkins? Nope. He liked the hay.

He lost his shoes, borrowed Adelyn's hat, and posed with Mommy.

Then it was more forced fun with the fruit!

Then Adelyn was ready for the mamarrazi again.

 "Hey! I know you!"

She looks at him.

He looks at her.

They look at each other.

Everyone to the left.

Everyone to the right.

Now, back to your friend.

He was rather somber because of the time of day, so no super smiles. But squeezing him into the 9 month outfit was worth the look. And the socks match the surroundings.

Yummy pumpkin! Wait...that's Adelyn's!

 Let's try this shot again.

"I just want the hay, Mom! I won't look at that silly camera!"

I had to see if he'd cooperate more on the shaded side of the tractor.

Nope!

Let's call it a day! I'm so tempted to take him back at a different time of day with a different forecast, but I think this will do it for the first year!

OMG this post had me cracking up!!! It's so funny that when I take KK somewhere the first thing I think of is "wait, gotta take a picture for the blog." Rarely do I just sit and enjoy our outting, I'm also snapping photos like a mad women. Trying to get 1 kid, let alone TWO to look at the camera is seriously quite the task. KK prefers to show me the top of her head now days. We had the darn'dest time getting pics at the pumpkin patch over the weekend so we are trying again this weekend. Wish us luck!
