Monday Memory

In May 2001, I flew over to Germany to meet up with Jesse while he took leave for 3 weeks. I flew in and out of Frankfurt and we spent the first night in Heidelberg before heading down to Bavaria. It's funny to think our first home would be 30 minutes from Heidelberg in less than 3 years from that time. It's also interesting how many times we would end up flying in and out of Frankfurt in the years to come.

We went to Krimml, Austria and stayed at a bed & breakfast there. We hiked up to the top of the falls. You see the falls from the bottom and then the view of Krimml from the top. I've seen an old picture of Jesse's grandparents with these same falls from the time his grandfather was stationed in Germany.

We spent some time in Garmisch, Germany. We wandered around a bit and hiked the Gorge.

We went up to the highest point in the Bavarian Alps...Zugspitze. Part of the view was clouded over and part of it was great. You can see we were the only ones out there at the time.

We also stayed at the AFRC in Chiemsee, Germany. The lake and surrounding area was very pleasant.

We went to Berchtesgaden, Germany and went to the top of Hitler's Eagle's Nest. Being Adolf Hitler's 50th Birthday gift, this was a historical place and it had a fantastic view.

Finally, we also went to Munich, Germany and Salzburg, Austria. Prost from the Hofbrauhaus!
