Knuckles

We always knew Knuckles was a jumper if she was anything. She doesn't bite, bark, or dig and is probably the best dog either of us have had. (Sorry to all my dogs in Heaven...I love you too for different reasons.) But, Knuckles jumped over the first barrier we tried to use when we adopted her and later we heard stories from our friend about her standing on their dresser one day when they got home or standing on the counter one day when they got home. So, she's definitely a jumper. We've only witnessed it once and have never come home to find her anywhere new or interesting.

We've also known that she is a people person and loves to be next to people, especially her favorites like us. When I put her out back to run around on her own, she won't. She thinks she's in trouble and sits on the top step waiting for us to acknowledge her or tell her what she did wrong to be put out on her own. When I bring puppy friends over to play, it takes her awhile to leave the step. Most times we have to step outside with her for her to feel like she can roam. (This habit developed partially because we didn't have a backyard fence for almost a year since we got her so we had to keep a close eye on her.)

Well, my friend Jen (same friend mentioned above, that actually brought Knuckles into our lives) was very happy when her deck was installed and there was a gate to keep the dogs out when they're outside. Well, about 2 minutes after putting them out tonight, I pointed out how Knuckles was just sitting on the top step trying to figure out how to get back to us. Sure enough within a few seconds, she figured it out. Instead of getting upset, we had her try again and again so we could get it on video because she would do it so fast. So much for that barrier! And, she gave the other two dogs a good lesson on how to do it themselves. Anyway, enjoy the clip...That's our baby girl!
